Because of generous people like you we have been fortunate to support some great charities including Bondi Beach Cottage (shelter for women & children fleeing domestic violence) Fairy Sparkle's Fairy Garden, KidsXpress, The Child Protection Unit at Sydney Children’s Hospital, Barnardos, The Fred Hollows Foundation, Daniel Morcombe Foundation, Dandelion Network, Operation Christmas Child, Guide Dogs Australia and now we're supporting the small but fabulous Little Heroes Swim Academy.
In just under four years we have raised over $500,000 in sponsorship and donations. We are able to raise all this money because we volunteer our time to support existing charities do what they do best - help others. Together we can and are making a difference!
Buddy Bracelets for Child Protection & Little Heroes Swim Academy
We have partnered with the friendship bracelet company, Buddy Bracelet to develop a charity range of Buddy Bracelets. 100% of profits from the sale of the charity range goes to two charities, they are Little Heroes Swim Academy (LHSA) and The Child Protection Unit at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick.
We raised $6,400 for LHSA to help them teach disabled children how to swim in the ocean and pools and $47,000 for The Child Protection Unit to help the specialist team rehabilitate children after ongoing physical abuse. FDC Construction & Fitout purchased the charity Buddy Bracelets and gifted them to the children in the Child Protection Unit and Buddy Bracelets donated the money to our campaign.
Buddy Bracelets are made of braided shoestrings and they are made to collect, swap and buy for your buddies. Charms can be purchased and attached to the your Buddy Bracelet & Bling. The only difference between the Buddy Bracelet & Buddy Bracelet & Bling is that the Bling has three embedded rings so you can easily attach your charms. There are perfect for kids to give to their buddies for Birthdays, Christmas or just for fun!
We are passionate about child safety and care and this is why we're supporting those two charities with them to support special needs children enjoy learning to swim. We are selling Buddy Bracelets to reinforce the swim safety message of 'always swim with a buddy'. It's also nice to love and support your buddies in all aspects of life.
Valentine's Companion Dog - $10,000 Guide Dogs Australia
Late last year Agent O'Brien tragically lost her father suddenly. Val, or 'Poppy' as he was known by the grandchildren, was an unwavering advocate for children. Poppy shared a special bond with Jo and Nick O'Brien's boy Henry who has developmental challenges. Val would often take Henry to his many therapy sessions and they spent countless hours enjoying each others company.
Henry was recently the recipient of a companion dog who he named 'Poppy' in honour of Val. This new addition to the family has in some respects filled the massive shoes of protecting Henry in the way that Val was so devoted to doing.
We will be handing over a cheque to @Guide Dogs NSW on Valentine's Day, Feb 14th & we'd love your help to give this campaign one last boost.
So far incredibly generous people like you have donated $9,240 and we'd love to tip the $10,000 mark.
If you'd like to donate to Guide Dogs Australia to support the wonderful work that they do in training companion dogs please hop online here and show your support! https://www.gofundme.com/inmemoryofval
As always we are so very grateful for your support.
Bonnie the Bunny - $48,000 Raised for Barnardos & Kids Hospital
Bonnie the Bunny has now raised a staggering $48,000 in three years for some of Australia's most vulnerable children.
Each year our friends at Nana Huchy donate 400 Bonnie the Bunnies, this year that will be 1,200 bunnies - we then sell the donated bunnies to kind-hearted people like you. But that's not where it ends the best bit is the bunnies don't go to those who buy them but rather to children in hospital child protection units who have been admitted to hospital with horrific injuries as a result of abuse or neglect. These little bunnies provide comfort at some of these children's most confusing and lonely times.
Bonnie is then given to children by the crisis care team. Sadly some children are admitted to hospital alone, confused and injured after they have endured unspeakable cruelty at the hands of their carers or parents. This is where Bonnie the Bunny steps in, Bonnie offers comfort, love and lots of safe hugs.
You can buy Bonnie the Bunny for a child from March 9th. We hope you'll again join us in supporting children who really need us to step up.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
We are proud that 100% of profits from the sale of the bunnies goes directly to supporting some of Australia's most in need children. This year the $14,000 raised from Bonnie the Bunny & selling Buddy Bracelets went to The Child Protection Unit for the rehabilitation of children after long-term physical abuse. In 2016 we donated $22,000 to Barnardos Yalmambirra Learning Centre in Wellington NSW. Barnardos operates the Yalmambirra Indigenous Learning Centre (YLC) in Wellington, Western NSW for 30 highly disadvantaged Indigenous children aged 5-12 years. The centre provides a fun, safe environment for at-risk Indigenous children to engage in educational and recreational activities before and after school. This centre receives no government funding and offers ‘at risk’ children a nurturing, safe and learning rich environment. Sadly this is not always offered at home. The centre also works with families to help them take care of and keep their children safe.
In 2015 we donated $12,000 to support The Child Protection Unit's therapy programs for adolescents who had been sexually abused and occupational therapy sessions for children who had been so severely injured they needed therapy to be able use their little bodies properly again.
We absolutely love this mission is a double pay-it-forward. Your $35 buys a comfort bunny for a vulnerable child and the money raised goes straight to supporting children in great need.
Thank you to the BIG HEARTED and kind team at Nana Huchy for continuing to support this campaign
Fred Hollows Coastrek 2015 - 2017 - $20,000
Eight Agents for three years have walked over 50km in one day to support the Fred Hollows Foundation in their annual Sydney Coastrek.
Fred Hollows Foundation restores sight to those who are needlessly blind. A sad fact is that 4 out of 5 people who are blind don't need to be. We want to help them change that!
We have raised over $20,000 in three years for the Fred Hollows Foundation and we plan to walk again in 2018.
ALOHA, November 2015 - $12,000 raised for Bondi Beach Cottage & other shelters
Our ALOHA campaign was our way of supporting women and children fleeing domestic violence. This campaign consisted of an ALOHA event and the sale of gorgeous dashboard hula dolls. We named the hula dolls - Lanakila. Lanakila means victory or to overcome. We felt this was a strong name and honouring those women who dig deep and confront fears to enable them to leave destructive and dangerous relationships.
Nick and his team of kindhearted tradies at NJO Building Services sponsored the production of our dashboard Hula Dolls. Our generous friends at DePomme.com sold them all on their website and the team at Perpetual matched ever dollar their staff spent on buying Hula Dolls. Amy and her team at DePomme design the most amazing clothing for kids. Definitely worth a look www.depmme.com
We raised $12,000 which we donated to Bondi Beach Cottage and other women's shelters in Sydney. This money was earmarked to be spent at the frontline to enable women to gain access to financial, emotional and legal advice they so they can safely escape a world of violence and abuse.
